Small screw cover or trim cap has come off and gone missing
The little plastic caps that cover chassis screws work loose and drop off. Brands do not list them, so owners assume there is nothing they can do and live with an exposed screw head.
Likely fix: Not a safety problem in itself, but do check the screw underneath is still tight. Brands do not sell these caps, however specialist sellers who break buggies for parts list them regularly for a couple of pounds, and a used original is a better fit than anything generic.
Front wheel seized, squeaking or wobbling (cheap bearing fix)
The wheel stops spinning freely, squeaks, or the screw spins without tightening. The cause is the sealed bearings inside rusting and breaking up. Bugaboo only sell complete wheels, which owners report at 50 to 105 pounds and frequently out of stock.
Likely fix: Owners on r/fixit established the Butterfly wheels take standard 6800 RS or 6800 ZZ bearings, two per wheel and eight for the whole buggy, at roughly a pound each. Five or more owners have confirmed this works, including on the Butterfly 2, taking around fifteen minutes for all four. You need two Torx sets, and use silicone lubricant rather than WD-40 on reassembly. Note the plastic spacers are not available anywhere, so keep yours.
Brake pedal stuck, and Bugaboo say you need a whole new chassis
The brake lever will not depress. Bugaboo have told owners in writing that there is no repair and no screws to remove, quoting a replacement chassis at around 350 dollars. Owners found it is usually just sand and grit inside.
Likely fix: A full teardown fixes it and takes about an hour. You need a T20 security bit and there are thirteen screws in total. Strip it, wash the parts in dish soap, file smooth any divots on the slanted bearing surfaces, and regrease with white lithium grease. Watch for captive nuts falling out behind the cover. Do check the black plastic slider first: one owner found theirs cracked, glue did not hold, and they now brake on one wheel only.
Loud high-pitched squealing from the wheels
A persistent high-pitched squeak as the buggy rolls, caused by worn wheel bearings. The Cameleon and Bee share the same wheels.
Likely fix: One owner documented that these take two 608 RS bearings per wheel with an integrated 5mm spacer, which are standard skateboard bearings available from any skate shop for a few pounds. Aftermarket spacers can run slightly short, so 8mm washers may be needed to take up the play. Important: this is NOT the same bearing as the Butterfly, which takes a 6800, so check before ordering.
Handle/handlebar feels loose or slides out of position
A very commonly reported fault on Bee models - the handlebar catch or latch mechanism wears and stops gripping firmly.
Likely fix: This is usually a single worn part (the handlebar catch), not the whole handlebar. Bugaboo will often send a replacement catch under warranty; it's also a straightforward DIY swap (roughly 15-20 minutes) if you're out of warranty.
Won't fold or the fold feels stuck
Owners report the folding mechanism catching or refusing to release, especially after grit or dirt builds up in the hinge.
Likely fix: This is safety-critical - don't force it. Check for visible debris in the fold hinge first; if it still won't release cleanly, get it looked at by a repairer rather than forcing the mechanism.
Fox: chassis won't unfold at all
Widely reported on the Fox/Fox 2/Fox 3 - the central locking mechanism fails and the chassis stays jammed shut. Enough owners have hit this that some have called for a recall.
Likely fix: This is a mechanism failure, not something to force open - repeated forcing can crack the locking housing. It's a workshop repair or warranty claim, not a DIY fix.
Fox: seat won't click into place, or swings back unexpectedly
Reported on the Fox - the seat unit fails to lock securely onto the chassis, and in some cases has swung backward while the child was in it.
Likely fix: Stop using the seat position until checked - this is a safety-critical locking fault, not a cosmetic one. Get it inspected before your next outing.
Fox: front wheel comes loose or falls off
A recurring complaint - the front wheel axle bolt works loose or is missing entirely from the factory, letting the wheel detach.
Likely fix: Usually just the axle bolt/nut needs replacing, not the whole wheel.
Where can I find a car seat that fits my Fox?
The Fox uses a Maxi-Cosi-style adapter connection, opening it up to seats from several major brands: Maxi-Cosi (Mico Max, Mico 3), Cybex (Aton M, Aton Q, Aton 2, Cloud Q), Nuna (Pipa, Pipa Lite, Pipa Lite LX), Clek Liing, Britax Römer, and Peg Perego Primo Viaggio 4-35. Fox3 and Fox5 include the adapters; Fox and Fox2 need them bought separately.
Likely fix: Check your Fox generation first - buying adapters you already have in the box is a common, avoidable expense.
Where can I buy a footmuff for my Fox?
Bugaboo sells footmuffs sized specifically per stroller line, so a generic "universal" footmuff from elsewhere often fits poorly.
Likely fix: Use Bugaboo's own compatibility filter to make sure you get the Fox-specific fit rather than guessing from a generic listing.
Bee: front wheels shimmy or shake
A long-running Bee complaint - the front wheel ball-bearing assemblies rust, deform and can fall out after a year or two of use, making the wheel shimmy and the stroller noticeably harder to push.
Likely fix: Replacing the front wheel/bearing assembly usually resolves it - Bugaboo has never fully engineered this fault out, so it can recur.
Where can I find a car seat that fits my Bee?
With the official adapter, the Bee (Bee, Bee3, Bee5, Bee6) fits Maxi-Cosi (Mico AP, Mico NXT, Mico Max 30), Nuna Pipa and Pipa Lite, and Cybex Aton 2 and Aton Q.

Donkey: folded stroller won't stay closed
The Donkey has no proper fold-lock - only a magnet that holds it shut - and even a light bump is enough to spring it back open.
Likely fix: There's no small part that fixes this; it's a design limitation of the Donkey's fold mechanism, not a fault with your individual unit. A fold strap or bungee is the common workaround.
Donkey: won't fold completely
Usually not a mechanical fault - the Donkey won't fold flat unless the handlebar is fully retracted and the front wheels are locked first.
Likely fix: Check both of those before assuming something's broken. If it still won't fold with both done correctly, check for debris in the fold-button mechanism.

The Donkey Mono adapter fits Cybex Aton (all variants), Cybex Cloud Q and Cloud Z, Nuna Pipa Lite, and Maxi-Cosi Rock, Pebble, Pebble Plus and Mico 30. A separate Donkey Twin adapter exists for running two infant seats side by side.
