Front wheels rattle audibly on a brand new buggy
Owners report a loud rattle from the front wheels straight out of the box. UPPAbaby have replied in writing that this is normal and what they expect, and several owners returned the buggy over it. The same fault is reported on the Vista, where UPPAbaby called it a manufacturing defect and replaced the frame and wheel, after which it recurred.
Likely fix: A thin spacer between wheel and frame takes up the play. After trying five different packs, one owner settled on nylon washers of 10mm internal diameter, 15mm outside diameter and 0.5mm thick, and a second owner confirmed the same fix. Others have 3D-printed rubber washers or cut one from a plastic tub lid.
Small plastic part broken but only sold as a whole assembly
The Vista footrest hinge is not sold separately, and UPPAbaby quote a seat assembly at around 250 dollars to replace it. Owners hit the same wall with the Cruz folding latch, and many turn to 3D printed copies.
Likely fix: Owners online share 3D printed versions of both parts, but we would not fit one. A printed part has no tested strength, and these hold the seat and the fold, so a hidden layer failure could give way with your child in the seat. The safe routes are a warranty claim, a used original from a donor buggy on eBay, or a repairer. It is worth pushing UPPAbaby first, as owners have had parts replaced on goodwill even out of warranty.
Parking brake stopped engaging (often just one side)
A well-documented Vista/Cruz fault - usually the brake cable itself has stretched, frayed or snapped inside the rear axle assembly, not the pedal or lever.
Likely fix: A snapped cable can sometimes be re-tensioned or replaced on its own, but if the cable has failed inside the axle housing, the realistic fix is a replacement rear axle assembly (the brake is built into it), not just a small part.
Vista: front wheel squeaks or wobbles
A commonly reported Vista fault, confirmed common enough that UPPAbaby sells the exact replacement part.
Likely fix: A straightforward wheel swap - no need to replace the whole chassis.
Vista: rear wheel wears or wobbles
Reported alongside the front wheel issue - rear wheels take more load and wear faster with regular use.
Likely fix: Replace the rear wheel directly; it's a standard sold-individually part.
Vista: bassinet/carrycot feels wobbly on the chassis
A frequently asked-about issue - some wobble at the bassinet-to-chassis connection is normal by design, but excessive play usually means the connector clips have worn.
Likely fix: Check the connector clips are fully seated first. If the wobble persists beyond normal play, this needs a workshop inspection rather than a part swap.

Likely fix: A universal third-party footmuff may fit, but the official CozyGanoosh is confirmed to fit the Vista's seat shape exactly.
Cruz: fold feels stubborn or the lock sticks
A recurring Cruz complaint - dust and debris building up in the folding mechanism makes the one-step fold catch instead of releasing smoothly.
Likely fix: Clean out the fold hinge and lubricate lightly first - this resolves it most of the time without needing a replacement part.

Ridge: rear disc brake feels unresponsive or grinds
This was serious enough to trigger an official recall - Ridge joggers made July 2021-August 2022 had rear disc brakes with gaps that posed a fingertip injury risk, alongside reports of the brake needing more force to engage.
Likely fix: Check your serial number against the recall first - if it matches, UPPAbaby replaces both discs free. If not, a disc brake replacement is still the fix for reduced stopping power.
Ridge: front wheel wobbles, especially at speed
Reported as noticeable wobble on regular walks, not just jogging - the Ridge's all-terrain front wheel is the common point of failure.
